Lapsang Souchong
正山小种
### A Timeless Classic, Reimagined
While Lapsang Souchong is widely known for its distinctive smoky aroma, tea enthusiasts in China have long appreciated the **unsmoked style** for its natural sweetness, delicate floral character, and refined tea aroma.
Our Tongmu Lapsang Souchong offers this elegant interpretation of a classic Wuyi black tea. Without the traditional pine-smoking process, the tea allows the character of the leaves and the natural flavors of the Wuyi Mountains to take center stage.
### The Tongmu Difference
Originating from **Tongmu Village**, traditionally regarded as the birthplace of Lapsang Souchong, these tea leaves come from mountain gardens surrounded by the natural landscape of the Wuyi Mountains.
Unlike traditionally smoked Lapsang Souchong, this unsmoked version does not undergo the pine-smoking process. As a result, its flavor profile is more delicate and allows the natural characteristics of the tea leaves to shine through.
It is a refined black tea with a clean, smooth character and a distinctive Wuyi mountain terroir.
### Tasting Profile
**Aroma:**
Delicate notes of honey, wildflowers, and ripe fruit.
**Flavor:**
Exceptionally smooth with a soft, velvety texture. Subtle notes reminiscent of dried longan are complemented by a naturally sweet finish that gradually lingers on the palate.
**Liquor:**
A clear amber-gold infusion with a bright and elegant appearance.
### Why Choose Our Tin Packaging?
Our **250 g vintage-style metal tea tin** is designed not only for an attractive presentation but also for practical tea storage.
Tea can be affected by exposure to air, moisture, light, and other environmental conditions. The sturdy, airtight tin helps protect the tea during storage and helps preserve its original aroma and flavor.
Its classic appearance also makes it a stylish addition to a tea collection or a thoughtful gift for tea lovers.
### Brewing Suggestion
For the best experience, we recommend using fresh, filtered water heated to approximately **90–95°C (194–203°F)**.
Use approximately **3–5 g of tea leaves** and steep for **2–3 minutes**, adjusting the amount and steeping time according to your personal preference.
These tea leaves can be steeped multiple times. With each infusion, different nuances of aroma and flavor may gradually emerge.
### A Refined Taste of the Wuyi Mountains
From the mountain landscape of Tongmu Village to the carefully crafted unsmoked style, this tea offers a different way to experience Lapsang Souchong—without the characteristic smoky aroma, allowing the natural character of the tea leaves to take the spotlight.
